Lung cancer is classified into two major types: non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and small cell lung cancer (SCLC). NSCLC is the most common form of lung cancer, accounting for almost 90 percent of cases. Its subtypes include adenocarcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and large-cell undifferentiated carcinoma.
